Volunteers needed
The North Bay Hills HOA controls three parcels of property in the subdivision. One of the parcels is located on North Bay Hills Blvd, south of the Evergreen Manor assisted living community and north of the drainage creek. The lot is across the street from the entrance to Valencia Circle.
We have spoken to representatives of the City of Safety Harbor, including the City Arborist and the Department of Public Works, and we have been given approval to clear the ground cover and vines. It is our intention to use the lot as common area open space, and also as a potential location for a new entrance sign to the HOA. But before we can use the space, we must clear the ground cover, weeds, brush, vines, etc.
We are calling on volunteers to join us on Saturday, January 14, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. Safety is our primary concern, but everyone will be working at their own risk. It is strongly suggested that volunteers wear protective clothing such as boots, jeans, gloves, eye protection, etc. as they see fit. We also need volunteers who can bring tools and equipment to clear the area, including hand pruners, branch loppers, ladders, wheelbarrows, pruning saws, grass whips, rakes, shovels, etc. We can remove trees that are dead or trees with a diameter of 4” or less measured 4.5 feet above grade. We must maintain a 20” drainage easement for the creek.
The City of Safety Harbor has agreed to pick up any branches, ground cover, weeds, etc. that we clear. After the space has been cleared, we will set up an appointment with the City Arborist to determine if any more trees need to be pruned or removed.
This common area open space belongs to the North Bay Hills Homeowners Association, and we hope it will be an asset to the community.
